I have always had a love of reading and of the past. The first book I can actually remember the moment that those strange dots and squiggles formed into words and reading became a magic escape hatch into other worlds, no matter where I was or how boring the situation. There was always a place to escape to and friends to meet. I hid my secret desire to write for most of my life until one day I stepped into a historic site and came out a docent tour guide with a story burning to be written. That became my first novella, Papa’s Portrait, followed by a historical fiction series: The Stephenson House Chronicles. Writing has opened up a whole new world for me that was patiently waiting for me all along to just open that door and be ready for another adventure. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
